Sponsor a child

Be part of an amazing journey

Watch the video below

This festive season, it’s not just letters to Santa making their way around the world.

Our child sponsors and their sponsored children will be exchanging letters and photos too, swapping stories of how they spend Christmas – whether it’s a day like any other, or a time for opening presents and celebrating with friends and family.

We think there’s something really special about these letters. That’s why we've made a short film to celebrate the amazing journeys they’ll be making – and to invite you to be part of something magical, by becoming a child sponsor or giving sponsorship as a gift.

WHO INSPIRED OUR STORY

Reanne

Reane, 12, the Philippines

"I want to be a chef, I love cooking."

In the Philippines, Reane’s family lost their home in a typhoon. Today, they’ve rebuilt – and we’ve been helping too, constructing a health post at Reane's school and a water tank that provides clean water to her village. "Now that I'm part of Plan International, I've seen lots of great changes," she says.

Antora, 10, Bangladesh

"I like receiving letters from my sponsor."

In Bangladesh, Plan International supports the pre-school and primary school in Antora’s community, and run a children’s club to discuss child marriage, child protection and staying safe during disasters. “We raise awareness of these issues in our community,” she explains. “I want to be a doctor when I grow up.”

Matheo, 13, Tanzania

Matheo, 13, Tanzania

"My wish is to build my parents a house."

In Tanzania, Matheo is in grade seven at school. He attends a Plan International children’s club, where pupils can talk about the issues they face at school or in the community. "The subjects I like in school are maths, science and geography. I’d like to be a footballer and a technician too,” he says.

Sohaila, 15, Egypt

"I feel empowered to express my ideas and how I feel."

In Egypt, Sohaila dreams of becoming a paediatrician, so she can help children who can’t afford to see a doctor.  She attends Plan International’s children’s club, where she’s learnt about rights and responsibilities. “Any girl should have access to education, should not marry early and should have a role in her society,” she says.

Jarol, 9, Guatemala

Jarol, 9, Guatemala

"When I grow up I would like to be a teacher."

In Guatemala, nine-year-old Jarol loves football and playing with his friends. Today, his community has a health centre and a school, thanks to Plan International. “I like receiving and sharing letters with my sponsor, because she sends me postcards from places I haven’t seen before,” he says.
