Leave a gift in your will

Education is power. Pass it on.

leave a gift in your will

Education is power. Pass it on.

Around the world, children – and particularly girls – face many barriers to achieving their future goals. Barriers to education, to work, to self-confidence.

But they are barriers you can help dismantle for future generations with a gift in your will.

What is a gift in will?

What is a gift in will?

A gift in your will (or sometimes known as a legacy) is a way of giving a gift to family, friends and organisations you care about after you die.

You can give a sum of money, a percentage of your estate or your personal belongings.

Some of our wonderful supporters very kindly include a gift to Plan International UK in their will to continue the support they showed in their lifetime.

A gift in your will to Plan International UK can help children and young people learn the most valuable lessons they’ll ever learn. Lessons in life skills, self-esteem and independence.

We understand that your loved ones will always come first and that pledging a gift in your will is an incredibly personal decision. That’s why our Gifts in Wills team are available to talk to you about any aspect of including a gift in your will. You can get in touch with them by calling 020 3217 0215 or by completing our contact us form.

Your kindness could open opportunities that many children never dreamt possible.

A legacy of learning

Learning never has to stop. Ikilimah, 33, from Ghana can attest to that. She was forced to marry at 16 when her parents could no longer afford her education. Now she’s turning her life around:

“I did not want my children to be school dropouts like myself. I decided to look for a way to earn an income otherwise my family would never rise from this poverty.

“From a young age, I knew I wanted to work with my hands. When my brother mentioned training in construction, I decided to give it a try.”

Ikilimah enrolled in a skills training project with the support of Plan International. She is now the only female excavator operator working in her region.

A gift in your will can help inspire the next generation to seize new opportunities like Ikilimah and achieve their dreams.

“I want to be known as the woman who paved the way for other girls,” says Ikilimah, 33, from Ghana.
Lisabeth and her husband Phillip are supporting Plan International by leaving a gift in their will.

Meet Lisbeth

“A hungry child can’t concentrate on learning. A worried child can’t concentrate on learning.”

As a former teacher, Lisbeth knows the power of a good education, which is why she’s choosing to support Plan International UK by leaving a gift in her will.

If you believe that education is power – help pass it on with a gift in your will and unlock life-changing opportunities for children around the world.
