A heart-warming visit to Thailand
Nigel Hall sponsors Krorngkaew, a 10-year-old girl from Thailand and visited her to see the difference his sponsorship is making. Here he reflects on what the ‘truly amazing’ day meant to him.
“My visit was a truly amazing and life-changing experience. Being greeted on arrival by a class full of smiling children is a memory I'll cherish forever and after spending a little time in the classroom with the children it was fantastic to see them so full of energy and to have such a passion to learn.
“This passion was shown throughout the day by everybody I got to meet. The school was superbly organised and not only were the children getting an academic education they were also being taught life skills.
“Meeting the girl I sponsored was truly heart-warming and to spend time with her and her family was a great way to build up rapport and a bond. I took some gifts for her but my favourite was matching friendship bracelets that we both now wear.
“It was such an emotional day that was full of positive energy with every person I met or every place I visited. As the day came to an end I realised the importance that everybody plays in the sponsorship process. We are all a part of something special that changes lives and those lives change others and teach new beginnings and to see this happening is something that stays with you forever.”
