All children should grow up happy, healthy and educated, no matter where they are born and no matter their gender. But for many children living in Bangladesh and Nigeria, conflict, poor nutrition and limited access to education mean children aren’t reaching their full potential. And it's girls who suffer the most.
Our Chance to Grow Appeal gives children the tools to build a brighter future, even in the toughest circumstances. You can help ensure children have access to education and nutritious food, that pregnant women get the support they need and that young mums receive vital healthcare for themselves and their babies. But your donations are crucial.
What's more, if you donate today you can double your impact as every £100 you give will unlock another £100, so your gift will go twice as far to help children thrive. This is a unique opportunity for your kindness to go even further. Together we can reach over 500,000 children. Will you donate now?
We urgently need your support
Nutrition in Bangladesh
In Bangladesh, poor nutrition is responsible for more than 300,000 child deaths a year. The country also has one of the highest rates of child marriage in the world, with one in three girls become pregnant while still a child themselves.
Healthcare in Nigeria
Nigeria has the second highest rates for maternal and child mortality in the world. And mothers – especially those who become pregnant whilst still a child – struggle to access the healthcare needed for a healthy pregnancy and childbirth.
Education in Nigeria
After years of conflict in Nigeria, 10.5 million children are out-of-school; the majority of which are girls. Once a girl is out of school, they are vulnerable to gender-based violence and exploitation.
