Donate to Fierce Voices

In every corner of the world, girls’ rights are under attack. Girls are told what they can and cannot do with their bodies. They face barriers that prevent them from attending school and becoming independent. They are told their voices don’t matter.

It doesn't have to be this way. Together we can support girls with life skills and help them learn about their rights. With this knowledge they can challenge child marriage, raise awareness of trafficking and demand their right to education. But your donations are vital.

Fierce Voices is a global community of likeminded people who want to make the world a fair, safe and equal place for girls. When you sign up, your regular donations can support projects that empower girls and tear down barriers so they can reach their potential.

What your support means to girls

Until the age of 14, Hellen had never been to school. She spent most of her days helping her mother with the household chores or working in the fields. Hellen is one of more than 1,400 girls aged between 9-15 years old in Tanzania, who are being supported by Plan International’s Keeping Adolescent Girls in School (KAGIS) project, to receive an education.

"I am happy to finally be starting school for the first time in my life. For years, I had dreamt of the opportunity to enter the classroom and learn, but I never thought it would be possible. I now have the chance to pursue my education and become a teacher,” Hellen, 14, Tanzania.

Hellen, 14, Tanzania, is happy be starting school for the first time.

Worke
Worke, 14, is living in a camp for people displaced by the conflict in Tigray

"Menstruation is a taboo subject"

For Worke, managing her period is a challenge. Without any money she is unable to buy the essential items she needs, including soap, supplies, and basic clothing items, which are needed to maintain her personal health and dignity.

“Only girls who can afford to buy sanitary pads could go to school and pursue their education. The rest have no such opportunity.” Worke.

Thanks to donations, Plan International provides girls with dignity kits to help them manage their periods. These kits not only protect girls from potential hygiene and health problems but also improve their psychosocial and physical well-being.

Your donations will make a difference

At Plan International UK we’ve been responding to children and young people’s needs for more than 80 years and today we work in over 75 countries- including the UK.

Together with support from people like you we’re working to create a world that treats girls as equals and protects children’s rights. Our key priorities are to ensure that every child, especially every girl, has access to education and can live free from violence.

Every year we spend at least 80% of our money on charitable activities including our emergency response work and long-term development projects.
