PROVIDING SAFE, QUALITY EDUCATION IN CENTRAL AMERICA
With the Costa Foundation
In remote coffee-growing regions around the world, many young people are still missing out on their chance to go to school – especially girls. Through our partnership with the Costa Foundation to help coffee-growing communities thrive, we want to provide safe access to quality education for children.
Since 2015, we have delivered six projects together with their support totalling over £1 million. We focus on ensuring children in coffee-growing communities can learn in safe, inclusive spaces with adequate WASH facilities (water, sanitation and hygiene), and that girls are supported to stay in school.
In 2023, the Costa Foundation also funded our humanitarian response to support children in San Pedro Carchá, Guatemala, where Plan-funded projects supported people experiencing severe food insecurity and acute malnutrition.

families, teachers and community members engaged to support children to stay in school
All children and young people should have the opportunity to learn in an inclusive and safe environment. However, in remote coffee-growing regions around the world, many are still missing out on their chance to go to school – especially girls. Through our partnership with Plan International in Guatemala and Honduras, we are providing safe access to quality education and are working with communities to build brighter futures.
