How we raise money
Around the world, we’re committed to giving every child the same chance in life – but our work wouldn’t be possible without your incredible support.
When you make a donation, sponsor a child or fundraise for Plan International UK, you open up a world of opportunity for children, so they can achieve their potential.
It’s the most amazing gift. And in return, we pledge to maintain the highest standards of accountability to you, and the children and communities we work with.
HOW WE FUNDRAISE
To make sure we can give every child every chance, we aim to share our message with you as efficiently as possible. We fundraise in a number of different ways, including door-to-door, face-to-face in shopping centres and other public spaces, and by running adverts online and on TV.
We are regulated by the Institute of Fundraising Compliance Directorate, as well as the Fundraising Regulator. We only work with ethical agencies who are also regulated by these organisations, and are as passionate and enthusiastic as we are about creating a better, more equal world for children.
Our fundraisers love spreading the word about our work and getting to know you. If you see them out and about, please do stop and say hello!
Meet Team Plan
Whether they’re running, baking or hosting a quiz night, our amazing supporters tirelessly raise money for children across the globe.

How your money is spent
All children deserve an education, health care and clean water – and every child deserves the chance to thrive.
How we spend our money - every year, we spend at least 80% on our charitable activities including our emergency response work and long-term development projects.
The rest of our income goes towards our fundraising and administrative costs.
YOUR SUPPORT IS CHANGING LIVES
In Guatemala, nine-year-old Jarol loves football and playing with his friends. Today, his community has a health centre and a school, thanks to Plan International.
“I like receiving and sharing letters with my sponsor, because she sends me postcards from places I haven’t seen before,” he says.
