YES, I BELIEVE ALL GIRLS DESERVE AN EDUCATION

All girls deserve the chance to learn. But 40% of girls don't finish secondary school.

Poverty. Periods. Safety. Access. Discrimination. These are just some of the obstacles that force girls out of the classroom. But you can help girls take a seat in the classroom – and stay there.

With your donations, we can ensure schools are girl friendly. From safe, clean toilets to female teachers that inspire the next generation of girls. And we can help make it more affordable for families to send girls to class. With the promise of a hot school meal and the learning materials girls need.

Against all odds, girl are determined to learn. And together, we can clear the way.

"I like coming to school more now because I can get food there"

In Mali, the number of girls dropping out of school is rising at an alarming rate. A complex humanitarian crisis is largely to blame, driven by conflict, poverty and the climate crisis.

But simple interventions like school meals are making a difference to girls like Aminata:

"I find the canteen very good. The food is really delicious. Since the canteen started, my parents have had peace of mind.

I like to study, it’s my main goal. I like to study a lot. The school helped me know how to express myself and to write. Thanks to the school, I will be independent one day.

I want to become an air force pilot. I love seeing planes in the sky and would love to fly them myself and my friends."

What keeps girls from the classroom?

The odds are still stacked against girls when it comes to education. Especially as they move through adolescence.

These absent notes to teachers capture the stories of girls forced from the classroom. The notes are imagined but the stories behind them are very real.

Read about the girls who inspired the notes and learn more about the barriers facing girls worldwide.
