Israel’s attacks against starving and traumatised people must be condemned

18th March 2025

Responding to news of the breakdown of the ceasefire in Gaza, Kathleen Spencer Chapman, Director of Influencing and External Affairs at Plan International UK said:

"We utterly condemn Israel’s renewed attacks on the people of Gaza, which have killed more than 400 people so far, including at least 80 children. This is a brutal act of aggression against a starving and traumatised people and follows an illegal blockade that has left medics without the supplies they need to treat the wounded. This is a moral outrage that should shame the world into action.

“World leaders must put a stop to this horror. The ceasefire must be reinstated and aid allowed back into Gaza. Children and their families are in desperate need of food, water, medical supplies, and shelter. Without the urgent influx of humanitarian aid promised by the ceasefire, thousands more could die from hunger and related diseases alone.

“After more than 15 months of indescribable trauma, Palestinians in Gaza finally had a faint glimmer of hope. World leaders must do all they can to broker an immediate, permanent solution and ensure that critically needed humanitarian aid can safely get into all parts of Gaza. Anything less is unconscionable.”
