"We wanted to combine the themes of a physical challenge and take a stand for what we think should be changed in the world." – Bride in Boots

Fundraising success

Every day, our brilliant supporters are taking on exciting challenges to help give girls the chance to achieve their dreams in life.

To help support our Because I am a Girl campaign, ‘Brides in Boots’ wanted to do something different. So, the seven brilliant women took on a 20km expedition wearing wedding dresses!

Brides in Boots raised an incredible £800 for Plan International UK – and had great fun in the process!

Ready to fundraise for equality for girls?

Activist Sewanatu survived FGM aged just 6 years old.
"I want to help girls to believe in themselves and to see that there are a lot of opportunities out there for them. I want them to know that they are smart, they are strong, they are intelligent and they are capable of doing anything that boys can do."

The difference your fundraiser could make

Forced to undergo FGM when she was just six years old, 20-year-old Sewanatu became an activist at an early age and – with Plan International's support – has gone on to tackle not only FGM, but also child marriage, teenage pregnancy, education in emergencies and sexual violence against women.

As part of Plan International's global initiative, the Girls Advocacy Alliance, Sewantu's activism has taken her al over the world. She is currently working with young people from across 14 countries to influence governments on key issues that affect children.

Your fundraising could help make a difference to girls all over the world like Sewanatu, helping them to stay in education and achieve their dreams.
