Donating shares to Plan International UK is easier than you might think and can be a tax-efficient way to help children and girls around the world to thrive.  

By making a gift of shares, you could receive these great benefits:  

• Capital Gains Tax relief: when you gift shares you do not have to pay Capital Gains Tax on any increase in their value.
• Income tax relief: you can claim income tax relief on the full value of your shares.
• Inheritance tax relief: share gifts are exempt from Inheritance Tax.
   

How donating shares works

You can donate shares in just a few easy steps.

First, let us know you’d like to donate shares by completing the form below. We’ll then get in touch to discuss your gift and provide a letter confirming your wish to donate your shares, along with authorisation to sell them on behalf of Plan International UK. Once the shares are sold, we’ll receive the donation, and you can claim any tax relief that may apply to your circumstances.

We’ll guide you through the process at each step, and our team is always happy to help.

You can also choose to sell your shares before gifting them to Plan International UK and make a cash donation, but this will change the tax relief you’re able to claim.
