In response to the Department for International Development’s Multilateral and Bilateral Development Reviews, a Plan International UK spokesperson says:
"The British Government has a long and successful track record of supporting the world’s poorest through its aid budget. Promises have been made and kept and these aid reviews suggest that will continue under this Government.
"We particularly welcome the continued prioritisation of girls and women. No country will eradicate poverty if half the population is discriminated against.
"The increased commitment to children is critical. Too many children in the world today are being exploited or live in fear of violence, while others, such as disabled children, are being left behind.
"We also support the government's commitment to value for money, transparency and listening to beneficiaries - principles we champion and apply at Plan International UK everyday”
