Around the world, millions of girls have the odds stacked against them. From child marriage and female genital mutilation to street harassment, sexual exploitation and online abuse, they’re facing discrimination, violence and inequality every day.
But despite the obstacles they face, girls around the world aren’t prepared to give up on their dreams. With the support of amazing people like you, they’re making sure they know their rights. They’re going to school, setting up businesses and reimagining their futures – and changing their communities along the way, too.

Around the world, we're empowering girls and young women to realise their rights and achieve their dreams. From providing life skills and leadership training to supporting young people to earn a living, setting up art training workshops and working with families living in refugee camps, it's all thanks to incredible people like you.
Leticia, 14, has big ambitions for the future – despite growing up in a society that doesn’t accept girls can pursue their own careers. “I dream of being a professional dancer or a doctor. Or both, because I can,” she says. 
Ana was born without hearing and unable to speak. Despite facing exclusion and discrimination, she’s making an income from her art and using it to represent things she’d like to say, like this picture of her dream home. 
Seven-year-old Iman* is one of tens of thousands of Syrian refugees living in Jordan. “One of my biggest dreams is to have proper food. I miss my large family. I dream of being reunited with them and having fun,” she says. 
Joyce’s mum, Evelyn, was sponsored as a child, helping her achieve her dream of becoming a teacher. Now she’s inspiring her three young children to dream big for the future – including Joyce, 6, who wants to be a nurse. 
In Paraguay, 18-year-old Yamila has made her dream of running her own business come true. “In my community there were no clothing stores but lots of demand,” she says. “I saw there was an opportunity.”
