Payroll giving
All children deserve an education, health care and clean water. When you become a sponsor, you help give a child the chance to thrive – and you get a unique chance to become a part of their life.
It’s the start of an amazing journey. Signing up to become a sponsor through payroll giving can make the experience even simpler, costing you less every month.
Payroll giving works by taking your sponsorship donation from your salary before tax is deducted. If you’re a 20% taxpayer, signing up to a monthly donation of £19.50 will only cost you £15.60.
What are the benefits of giving through your pay?
- It saves you money, while still passing on the full sponsorship donation to us. For instance, signing up to sponsor a child for £19.50 will only cost you £15.60.
- It's tax-efficient. Your regular donation is taken from your salary before tax is deducted – HMRC pays the rest!
- It's simple and stress-free, making it a great way to become a child sponsor. And it's easy to get started, with just one form to fill online and no direct debit set-up.
How do I sign up to payroll giving?
It’s easy! Just check if your employer has a workplace giving scheme.
If they do, simply sign up using our online form, which you can find here. We’ll do the rest and send you confirmation once your gift is set up.
If they don’t, why not talk to your HR team about starting a scheme?
Don’t forget, some employer’s payroll giving schemes will also match your donations. Why not ask your employer if they’ll match yours?
How will my donation change a child’s life?
When you sign up to become a sponsor through payroll giving, you'll be helping to give a child every chance in life.
Your support will help provide everything a child should have growing up: a place in school, clean water, a life free from violence and a future full of possibility.
And that’s not all. Your support not only helps your sponsored child, but their friends, family and other children in their community – giving them the chance to break the cycle of poverty.
How will my sponsorship work?
Once we’ve received your payroll giving form, we’ll send you a welcome pack with a photo of your sponsored child and information about them and their community. This will be followed by a letter or drawing from your sponsored child, which you can respond to.
You’ll then receive annual updates and photos, so you can follow your sponsored child's progress and find out more about the projects we’re supporting in their community.
