A Burden Lifted

Ama, 19, is a first-year student at High school in Ghana, her father died and her mother struggles to make ends meet.

The money she makes is not enough to pay Ama and her sister’s school fees and cover household expenses. Ama and her sister tried to raise money by selling goods after school, but this left Ama with very little time to study.

Ama received a scholarship funded by Prudential and her future is now looking more hopeful. “I am very happy, a big burden has been lifted from me.”

Employees making a difference

In Vietnam and Thailand, Prudential employees have painted classrooms, led play sessions and facilitated games to improve school children’s understanding of saving and budgeting.

"Volunteers and school children had an opportunity to do activities together. Seeing their smiles, fun and their determination to improve their school and playground together, made me proud."

- Atikom Damrongchaitana, Prudential employee, Thailand
