A Chance to Start My Own Business
Lucely is 21 and was selected to enrol in the vocational training programme in El Salvador. She took a course in baking, building on the skills taught to her by her mother.
“I learned how to make pastries and bread buns. I also gained skills in managing my business, and how to calculate production costs, and the most important thing, how to establish a market for my product.”
Lucely was provided with capital to kick-start her business plan. She now bakes pastries and bread at home and sells them to local stores and markets. “Now that I have my own business, I feel I am capable of solving my own problems.”
