One of the world’s greatest humanitarian crises
Since it gained independence in July 2011, South Sudan has been experiencing one of the world’s greatest humanitarian crises.
Armed conflict, economic insecurity and chronic underdevelopment have left over four million people displaced and seven million without enough food to eat.
Our teams have been responding to the ongoing crisis, distributing seeds and tools, so households can grow their own crops and are able to provide for their families.
We’ve also been working to improve nutrition, promote hygiene and distribute dignity kits to adolescent girls, so they can manage their periods safely.
