Six festive ways to support our work this winter
Six festive ways to support our work this winter
Whether you’re looking for a Christmas gift with a difference, sending a card to your sponsored child or preparing to take on the challenge of a lifetime in 2019, read on to find out how you can make a difference to children’s lives this festive season…
1. Donate to our Christmas appeal
Meet Lucia and Nzioki. They used to be among the 66 million children worldwide who go to school hungry – until we gave their family a very special gift: Munai, their goat. Now they have nutritious milk to drink for breakfast every day, helping them to concentrate at school.
This Christmas, we’d love to give even more children a special gift that will transform their lives. Your support for our appeal can help make that happen.
2. Give the gift of child sponsorship
Looking for a gift that’s a little bit different? Set up child sponsorship for someone you love and they’ll get to experience the magic of transforming a child’s life.
Our sponsorship programme helps children in some of the world’s poorest communities access the essentials they need to grow up safe, happy and healthy – such as clean water, healthcare and education. And by sending and receiving letters, your loved one will be able to see the incredible impact your support is having on their sponsored child’s life.
3. ORDER YOUR CHRISTMAS CARDS WITH US
Our charity Christmas cards come with an extra feel-good factor – knowing your support is giving children around the world the chance of a brighter future.
Choose from six brand new designs and a selection of last year's favourites, and don't forget to have a look at our Christmas gifts while you're shopping!
4. Send your sponsored child a letter
This festive season, it’s not just letters to Santa making their way around the world.
If you’re already a sponsor, Christmas is a really special time to send a letter to your sponsored child, whether 25 December is a day like any other, or a time for opening presents and celebrating with friends, family and loved ones.
5. Pledge your support for Team Plan
Start 2019 with a resolution you’ll want to keep: transforming children’s lives around the world.
Whether you’re ready to run your first-ever 10k, want to beat a personal best in a half or full marathon, or want to dedicate your very own challenge to changing the world for children, why not pledge to make next year the year you achieve something amazing?
6. Stand with brave girls everywhere
This year, we stood with brave girls around the world, as they led powerful campaigns to secure their rights and end discrimination – from calling for an end to trafficking in Nepal, to speaking out against street harassment and sharing their stories about the shame and stigma that still surround periods.
Together, we’re making amazing progress. But we still have a long way to go to end gender inequality – which is why we need you to stand with brave girls everywhere in 2019.
