Our Youth Advisory Panel are the voice of young people at Plan International UK

Youth Advisory Panel

Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) members stand shoulder to shoulder with young campaigners all around the world – asking decision makers to put their words into action.

We are the voice of young people at Plan International UK, providing a youth perspective on our activities and ensuring children are at the heart of everything we do.

We act as ambassadors for Plan International UK by speaking at events, writing articles for the press and campaigning for child rights by speaking with politicians, key decision makers, and our communities. From talks in schools to discussing girls’ rights on TV, we’re here to get involved and make change happen.

We advise Plan International UK by firstly learning how a charity works and then advising them on how to engage young people and improve the work they do. We develop our skills through workshops, training, and running projects with staff. We also have two youth observers on the board of trustees, making sure that Plan International UK keeps their promise to put children at the heart of what they do.

Do you believe in gender equality? Can you speak up for girls’ rights?

We're looking for young people from across the UK, between the ages of 14 and 21, to join our Youth Advisory Panel (YAP). We campaign for international and UK youth rights, with a focus on girls’ rights, and aim to represent the views of young people across the UK and embed them within Plan International UK’s work. This is a great opportunity for anyone keen on developing new skills and taking on a new challenge, so if this sounds like you – take a look at our application pack and apply!

The Youth Action Festival

We work with Plan International UK staff to organise an annual Youth Action Festival that brings young people from all around the country to take part in workshops and talks about girls' rights. Find out what happened at the 2015 and 2016 festival.
